Shanequa Moore Community Work
In 2013, I founded and launched the I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation to directly respond to the urgent needs of minority youth in my district. My organization is dedicated to safeguarding youth, restoring the community from the inside out, and raising the quality of life for minority families. I have helped to transform the lives of more than 10,000 of our city’s most vulnerable youth. The success of so many Bronx kids and parents can be attributed to this the work of my organization.
I strongly believe in the power of holistic wellness and promoting mental health in all facets of my work. I have been a vocal leader in the Black Lives Matter movement in the Bronx, participating in panels and community forums aimed at developing youth into civic leaders who will one day be able to change the systems that oppress so many in New York City.
